  1. Jean Hargis says:

My son has been incarcerated at Fremont since Nov., 2011. Prior to that he was at Bent County, a place where most of the prison staff treated us with great disrespect – not all but the majority. Our visits were hard to bear. Last year we were able to visit our son for the first time at Fremont on Christmas Day. Expecting to find the Prison Staff in worse humor than usual because they were there rather than with their families, we were pleasantly surprised that every single person we had contact with treated us in a friendly manner and wished a happy visit with our son. Each visit we have had with him in the last year has been a relaxed and pleasant experience with a bathroom inside the meeting room for those of us old enough to need it more frequently without having to be herded to stand in line outside in the hall to await our turn.

The Vending machines have been well stocked and working properly for the most part with staff willing to assist if they are not. My son is doing well there and respects the prison staff as they seem to give him the respect he needs to help him be a person with potential to leave that facility and become a productive citizen.

There is no need for Prison Staff to make themselves feel big by making others feel small. If anyone is visiting a loved one at Fremont, you will be grateful for their professionalism that provides the prisoner and his family visiting him to have a quality visit.
