How to Send an Inmate Money

Family, friends, or other sources may deposit money to prisoner’s Commissary accounts with Western Union and the U.S. Postal Service.

  1. Barros says:

This prison is the most unorganized prison I have ever seen in my life. My husband went to his council to find out about my visitor application the woman told him to get out of her office and that she didn’t have time for him and that is wrong. Later that same day she denied our visits stating that I have warrants when I don’t and I went to the court house and got paper work and mailed it to her that I do not have any open cases or warrants that my record is clean. The way these inmates are treated is ridiculous because no one deserves to be treated like an animal. I asked for a supervisor number and they kept avoiding anything I asked for. If the employees don’t like their job then quit and find another one don’t be so damn miserable and treat the inmates like they are nothing because they are and they have family, wives, kids, parents just like everyone else in this world. I know they did wrong and they are getting punished for it but the way they are treated is unheard of.

  2. Barros says:

I found out inmates are being threatened to go into confinement because they choose to not to do programs I find that ridiculous. Inmates shouldn’t be threatened to do anything or yet spoken to like they are nobody when the guards from what I hear are worse then the inmates. I call and get absolutely no answer. Why should an inmate who is doing life or near life in prison have to take a GED course especially when they will never use it? Why do guards speak to inmates like they are children I understand inmates can be cruel but not all of them my husband hasn’t been in any trouble for the past year and if he isn’t bothering anyone and doesn’t feel the need to take a class that he will never use and he is saying to the guards that he is not in the right state of mind to be in the class then they should listen to them.

  3. Marc says:

I was notified via Vine Services 09/01/2017 at 7:07 am that my husband was transferred to I was expecting a call because to my understanding they are allowed a phone call to notify family members of their transfer. I never received a call so at 9:49 PM I contacted the facility to find out if he was okay. The staff there informed me that he was transferred again to Blackwater River Correctional.  So I proceed to contact them. Upon doing so I was informed that he had gotten there after hours and that he was being held in confinement until the morning which then will be released into general population. Because due to after hours he could not be registered until the morning. I ask officer Burrell if I can speak with him to know he is okay because I have not gotten a call from my husband and that he is allowed to make a call to notify family of his transfer especially if they are travelling far to visit. She agreed that is accurate. She then transferred me to Captain Samford and he informed me that what the officer stated is correct. I asked if I can speak with him to get confirmation he is okay he obliged and said he would contact me upon making his rounds in the next couple of hours to confirm if my husband was ok. My concern is that I have not heard from my husband so I don’t know if he is dead or alive. Captain Samford never returned my call as promised. He was not given the opportunity to contact his family and reservations were made in advanced which had to be cancelled and had to pay a cancellation fee. So I am not happy with the way this was handled. My only request was to speak to my husband to ensure he was okay. I just wanted to hear his verbally stating that. Called again in the morning at 8:15 am and was immediately brushed off by an officer Jennifer Gunn who proceeded to tell me there was nothing she can do and to call back at 4 pm when they were not busy. This is not the way this was supposed to be handled
