Inmate Money

Each prison has a Commissary which was started to provide inmates an account for inmate monies and for buying items not issued to inmates by the Bureau of Prisons.

How to Send an Inmate Money

Family, friends, or other sources may send money to prisoner’s Commissary accounts using the U.S. Postal Service and Western Union.

Via U.S. Postal Service: Inmates’ families and friends are able to send inmates money through the mail and must send those funds to the following address and follow the steps provided below:

The funds must be in the form of a money order that is made out to the inmate’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. It is best if you use a postal money order, since all non-postal money orders processed through the National Lockbox will be kept for a 15-day hold, and during this period the inmate will not have access to the funds. The Bureau of Prisons will return funds that do not have appropriate prisoner info provided the envelope you sent it in has a return address. Checks and cash cannot be deposited so do not send cash or checks.

I would like to know why my daughter is not receiving the letter i sent her. I adressed it properly, it had no inappropriate language in it and it had a full return adress.
I also want to know why she asked for a doctor visit and you took the money from her account but never let her see a doctor? It is my money going on this account so you are stealing from me. She sounded like she had Bronchitis and received no help.
I guess WRAL needs to do an expose on conditions, treatment and integrity of this institution. I know my daughter was wrong in her actions but do you know your are wrong with your actions?
Paintng over mold doesn’t make the mold go away it must be treated first, just a hint for someone.
