How to Send an Inmate Money

Family, friends, or other sources may send funds to prisoner’s accounts using the U.S. Postal Service and Western Union.

Via U.S. Postal Service: An inmate’s family and friends can choose to send prisoners money through the postal service and have to send it to the address below and follow the directions given below:

The deposit have to be in the form of a money order made out to the inmate’s full committed name and complete eight-digit register number. It is advisable to use a postal money order, since all non-postal money orders that are processed through the National Lockbox will be subject to a 15-day hold, and during this hold period the prisoner will not have access to the depsoit. The Bureau of Prisons will send back any funds that do not have correct inmate info if the envelope it was sent it has a valid return address. Personal checks and cash cannot be accepted for deposit so don’t send cash or checks.

The Department of Justice Victim Notification System (VNS) is a system that provides victims with information pertaining to their case and/or any defendants in the case. Here, you will find information about future court hearings, historical court events, and detailed information about the defendant. This will include criminal charges filed, the outcome of charges, sentence imposed, custody location, projected release date and any other release information. The VNS website is updated daily. You will also receive any ongoing information by mail or email.

    Chester SCI is the most ghetto and unprofessional SCI I have unfortunately ever had to visit! The visit desk Officers are extremely rude and unprofessional. They speak to the visit as if they are trash BC they are voting their family or loved one! No wonder the percentage of release of an inmate and not returning is extremely LOW!! Isn’t this suppose to teach and rehabilitation our men?? But how when the staff is disrespectful, discriminating, ignorant and rude!! I’m Soo tired of dealing with these ghetto hood rat woman they think they can talk to you anyway they want!! And then you ask for a supervisor and the Srg kisses his hand goodbye at me like he is some hood rat arguing like ARE YOU SERIOUS!! COs in the bubble yelling complaining and calling visitors bitches and talking disrespectful and the SRGT CONDONS IT!! Gotta be kidding me GHETTO TRASH WITH BADGES
